Free Yourself from the Tyranny of Dirt and Clutter Forever

Today I will discuss tips on how to get rid of clutter in your bedroom.

Bedroom

It is important to keep your bedroom clean and free of clutter.

  • If dirty clothes must be in the room, keep them in a covered hamper in a closet.
  • There should be nothing but air under your bed! Energy must be able to circulate around the bed—and you—freely. The importance of this cannot be overemphasized. The stuff under your bed emits its own energy, so whatever is under your bed will affect you. For example, if you store old bills beneath your bed, you are sleeping on past finances. You might feel overwhelmed with excessive money issues, or obsessed with the past. Clear the underbelly of the bed and enjoy the benefits of vital life-force energy surrounding you.
  • Closets should be neat and organized. Discard what you have not worn in two or more years. Repair or discard torn clothing and shoes. Try arranging like clothes together; casual shirts, work shirts, casual pants, etc. and discover how easy it is to find everything!
  • Organize dressers, discarding unused or torn items and neatly folding what remains.
  • Store only personal items in the bedroom, if possible. If you must store paperwork, keep it neat and hidden in a closet or drawers.
  • Sort and organize jewelry. Sell or donate what you do not like.

Creating a Harmonious Environment: Tip #1

Starting today, I will begin posting a tip of the day for creating a Harmonious Environment. Feng Shui, good design, Vastu and other principles will be used.

Tip #1
Keep the Entryway and all Doorways Free of Clutter
The front door to your home is of paramount importance, as it is the main access point for chi to flow inside. The pathway leading to your front door and into your home and entryway should be inviting, open and free from clutter. Visualize life-force energy, as it flows up your walkway and into your home. Are there obstacles preventing the chi from flowing smoothly and easily? Do you open the door to a pile of shoes and coats thrown on a nearby chair? Does your door hang on its hinges correctly, open and close properly, is it in good condition?

Overgrown bushes, dead plants or flowers, discarded objects outside your home, and clutter inside or around the front door and entry area can result in chi moving too slowly or inadequately into your home. The chi in your home becomes too yin and the result is that your home feels stagnant, as not enough fresh energy is entering your home. As clutter inside the home causes negative, stagnant chi, so do overgrown bushes, dead plants or flowers, or discarded objects outside your home.

Keep all doorways in your home free of clutter to help ensure the proper flow of chi in each room.
